SUMMARY:STUDIO GHIBLI CHALK CONTEST **ALL DAY**
DESCRIPTION:Welcome to CHALKZILLA! Our Studio Ghibli Chalk Contest returns this August with a special guest: the King of the Monsters himself\, GODZILLA! \n\n\n\nBust out that chalk and join us for Buffalo’s Annual Studio Ghibli Chalk Contest\, now celebrating its TWELFTH continuous year as one of the coolest expressions of Ghibli love on the planet. \n\n\n\nThis year\, in addition to our Ghibli theme\, we’re adding all-things Godzilla to the mix\, in honor of this summer’s 4K release of Hideaki Anno’s SHIN GODZILLA. \n\n\n\n\n\nThat means all entries related to Studio Ghibli\, Godzilla\, or Ghibli AND Godzilla (Can we get a Mecha-Totoro?) will be considered. \n\n\n\nAnd as you know\, we’re pretty loose with themes. If you have some other special effects heavy\, live action Japanese series dear to your heart (this one’s for you\, Leopardon gang!) go crazy. \n\n\n\n\n \n\n\nCHALK CONTEST ENTRY IS FREE!All skill levels are encouraged!Some chalking supplies will be provided!North Park Bubble Tea in our lobby!FREE water for chalkers! \n\n\n\nGeneral prize packages TBA (they will be cool!). \n\n\n\nAs in previous years\, the festival spans TWO days: August 9 – August 10th. Except in extenuating circumstances\, artists will be judged according to one day’s worth of work. \n\n\n\nChalking starts at 9:00 AM Saturday and Sunday. (But you can start any time after.) \n\n\n\nFinal judging starts at 9 PM Sunday. \n\n\n\n(Take a break and catch one of our two Ghibli matinees that weekend!) \n\n\n\nPLUS: If you missed any Ghibli posters over the years\, KatyDid will have a table out with North Park prints\, buttons\, postcards\, and all kinds of cool stuff…! \n\n\n\nPlease use non-permanent materials. \n\n\n\nHere is some work from previous years: \n\n\n\n9th Annual Miyazaki Chalk Contest in Buffalo\, NY
