SUMMARY:"Scrap" - Presented by the Buffalo Tool Library
DESCRIPTION:Discover the vast and strangely beautiful places where things go to die and meet the people who collect\, restore\, and recycle the world’s scrap. SCRAP scratches beneath flaking paint and rusting metal to reveal the beauty and pathos in the ugliness we leave behind. \n \nScreening 11:30am Saturday\, October 5th!\nGet tickets HERE. \nSCRAP is a love letter to the things we use in our daily lives. \nThis cinematic documentary tells the story of people who each have a deep connection to objects that have reached their ‘end of life’. \nTogether these stories convey a deeper environmental and human message about our relationship to things\, the sadness we feel at their eventual loss\, and the joy that we can find in giving them a new purpose. \nThings\, like people\, show a certain beauty in their old age. Like us\, they carry the weight of their history and the markings and scars accumulated through their lifespan. With the loss of these objects\, we are also losing parts of our history and the cultural memory which they embody. \nBy showing discarded goods in a new and engaging way\, the film raises awareness about the fate of the things we use and explores how artists\, and other creative thinkers\, can be part of finding usefulness in the things we discard.

SUMMARY:"Immediate Family" w/ director Denny Tedesco LIVE
DESCRIPTION:ONE NIGHT ONLY! \nFeaturing director Denny Tedesco LIVE and in-person\, son of legendary late Wrecking Crew guitarist Tommy Tedesco! \n \nScreening 7:00pm Saturday\, October 5th\nGet tickets HERE. \nIMMEDIATE FAMILY tracks the rise and collaborations of a group of legendary session musicians Danny Kortchmar\, Leland Sklar\, Russ Kunkel\, and Waddy Wachtel through the 1970s and onward\, chronicling their illustrious partnerships and their formidable record of hit-making. \nDirected by Denny Tedesco\, whose documentary THE WRECKING CREW followed the first wave of studio musicians in the 60s\, the film reveals the machinery behind the booming era of the singer-songwriter\, when the talents of these four musicians were in furious demand. \nThe foundations of their enduring friendship\, formed on the road and in studios\, is recalled with dynamite clarity —reminisced with fondness through intimate interviews with the guys themselves\, as well as the memories of some of rock’s most iconic voices including Carole King\, James Taylor\, Linda Ronstadt\, Keith Richards\, Don Henley\, Stevie Nicks\, David Crosby\, Jackson Browne\, Lyle Lovett\, Phil Collins\, and more. SUMMARY:"Daytime Revolution" - John Lennon Birthday Screening
DESCRIPTION:For one extraordinary week beginning on February 14th\, 1972\, the Revolution WAS televised! \n \nGet tickets HERE. \nDaytime Revolution takes us back in time to the week that John Lennon and Yoko Ono descended upon a Philadelphia broadcasting studio to co-host the iconic Mike Douglas Show\, at the time the most popular show on daytime television with an audience of 40 million viewers a week. \nWhat followed was five unforgettable episodes of television\, with Lennon and Ono at the helm and Douglas bravely keeping the show on track. Acting as both producers and hosts\, Lennon and Ono handpicked their guests\, including controversial choices like Yippie founder Jerry Rubin and Black Panther Chairman Bobby Seale\, as well as political activist Ralph Nader and comic truth teller George Carlin. \nTheir version of daytime TV was a radical take on the traditional format\, incorporating candid Q&A sessions with their transfixed audience\, conversations about current issues like police violence and women’s liberation\, conceptual art events\, and one-of-a-kind musical performances\, including a unique duet with Lennon and Chuck Berry and a poignant rendition of Lennon’s “Imagine”. \nA document of the past that speaks to our turbulent present\, Daytime Revolution captures the power that art can have when it reaches out to communicate\, the prescience of that dialogue\, and the bravery of two artists who never took the easy way out as they fought for their vision of a better world.
